HeartSaver CPR, First Aid & AED

Description

This course is designed for first-time learners and learners whose initial certification has been expired longer than 90 days. This is a full IN-PERSON course. It includes full instructor-led training covering adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, choking relief and First Aid. Students participate in guided, hands-on practice and skills testing during class. This option is best for individuals with no prior CPR certification. Upon completion of the course students will be granted an electronic certificate via email that certifies completion in the following categories:

  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • AED Use

You have the option to add on the following enhancements to your certification. Pricing changes are reflected in the "Book Courses" page.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

First Aid Objectives

  • Recognize common medical emergencies and assess the scene for safety.

  • Identify signs and symptoms of life-threatening and non–life-threatening conditions.

  • Demonstrate proper response to bleeding, including use of direct pressure and bandaging.

  • Provide appropriate care for burns, wounds, sprains, strains, and fractures.

  • Recognize and respond to sudden illnesses such as stroke, heart attack, diabetic emergencies, seizures, and allergic reactions.

  • Demonstrate proper response to choking in adults, children, and infants.

CPR Objectives

  • Recognize cardiac arrest and activate the emergency response system.

  • Demonstrate high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants according to current AHA guidelines.

  • Perform effective chest compressions and rescue breaths using correct technique and ratios.

  • Demonstrate use of barrier devices for rescue breathing.

AED Objectives

  • Explain the importance of early defibrillation in cardiac arrest.

  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

  • Apply AED pads correctly for adults, children, and infants.

  • Follow AED prompts and coordinate AED use with CPR.

Emergency Response & Teamwork Objectives

  • Demonstrate effective communication with emergency responders.

  • Work as part of a team during multi-rescuer CPR situations.

  • Maintain personal safety and infection control during emergency care.

Prerequisites

* Successful registration and payment of course fees

* Students must arrive to class with an acceptable form of ID

    - State ID card or Driver's License
